User fields

Attach additional named values without changing drawing geometry.

Use

Expand User fields on supported metadata. Add field creates a Key and Value pair; edit these fields to record information such as a location or installation note. Remove field deletes that pair. Values can contain multiple lines where the editor allows them.

Effect

User fields describe the owning metadata and may therefore be shared across drawing occurrences. They do not create geometry, change cable endpoints, or define new automatic frontmatter tokens. A user-field edit can appear in Change details even when the visual preview is unchanged. See [ Devices ], [ Generated frontmatter fields ], and [ Diff and change details ].
