Built-in and native file pickers

Choose project, image, export, and license files in the appropriate open or save dialog.

Choose a picker

User Preferences > General > Use built-in file picker selects the built-in modal picker instead of the platform picker. Open dialogs select existing files; Save dialogs choose a filename and directory. Cancelling the picker does not perform the requested operation. Only one built-in picker is active at a time. On Linux, the native picker requires zenity; if it is unavailable, enable Use built-in file picker and try again. Native file-type filtering varies by platform; use the built-in picker if a required export type is not offered.

Paths and file types

The built-in picker starts from a suggested directory, the current project directory, or the working directory. It filters by operation: .wpr projects, PDF/PNG/SVG/HTML output, raster images, .license license files, or .json installation requests.
