Copy, cut, duplicate, and blueprint a selection
Turn complete selected objects into reusable content or another placed copy.
Use
Select complete canvas objects. Copy or Ctrl+C stores a reusable selection in clipboard history. Ctrl+V starts placement of copied content. Ctrl+D duplicates through a placement preview. Edit > Cut copies and removes selected content. Blueprint from selection or Ctrl+Shift+C opens a named draft from the selection.
Caveats
An isolated incomplete selection may not yield a reusable drawing; the blueprint workflow asks for at least one complete canvas object. Connections depend on their endpoints, so include the device assembly you intend to reuse and inspect the resulting preview. Text-field copy and cut operate on text instead. See [ Clipboard History ], [ Place copied or reusable drawing content ], and [ Text focus and editing shortcuts ].
