File and export errors

Understand invalid project files, unsupported versions, picker failures, and failed output.

Projects and paths

An empty path, unreadable file, unwritable destination, failed directory creation, or failed file replacement prevents the operation from completing. Check that the selected file and destination exist and are accessible. A file that is not a valid Warwick project or uses an unsupported project version cannot be opened as a compatible .wpr. Renaming a different file to .wpr does not convert it.

Images, pickers, and exports

Image import can fail because an image is empty, too large, or cannot be decoded. A picker may fail to start or be unavailable; try the other picker preference when supported. Export can fail if compilation fails or the renderer returns no output. Resolve the reported issue and retry; do not treat an absent Export complete message as successful delivery. See [ Project fonts and export typography ] and [ Export a drawing for delivery ].
