Compact the page layout

Restore eight-square page gaps after shrinking paper regions.

Use

After changing page size, inspect the old page regions and move overflowing objects inside a page or clear of the former area. Project Settings > Compact pages brings pages back to normal eight-grid-square gaps. Finish the current edit before compacting.

Safety

Compaction can reject objects in destination page areas or destination contents. Resolve the reported overlap rather than assuming the operation moved everything. Compaction is a page-layout edit, not a visual camera fit or a table sort. Review connected objects and output boundaries after the operation.
