Background rectangles

Place labeled areas behind drawing objects to organize the canvas.

Use

Inspector > Create background or the page-context action wheel starts a background draft. The blueprint editor can also Add background. Select a background to edit Position and Size, and, for a nonimage background, Label, Subtext, Background color, Border color, and User fields.

Effect

A background visually groups a region; it is not a container that changes the physical identity of enclosed devices. Dragging a background by itself is not a command to move everything inside it. Select the relevant objects together when arranging an assembly. Imported-image backgrounds have replacement and fit controls instead of ordinary label/color properties.
