Generated frontmatter fields

Insert the project name, page name, page slug, or compilation date into text.

Supported tokens

{{project.name}} expands to the project name. {{page.name}} expands to the current page name. {{page.slug}} expands to that page's slug key, delimiter, and value. {{date}} expands to the compilation date, normally formatted in UTC as day, month name, and year. Tokens work in shared and page-specific text.

Use and limits

Project name, Page name, Page slug, and Date buttons append their tokens at the end of the text, not at a selected cursor position. You can also type the exact token spelling. Expansion keeps the style at the token's opening brace, including tokens spanning formatting runs. Other names are not custom-field lookups and remain literal text.
