Offline licensing

An offline computer can use a signed license without contacting the website. Obtaining or renewing that file requires access to the website from another computer.

First activation

1. On Redline's welcome screen, choose Use offline license key, then Export installation request....
2. Transfer the JSON request to an internet-connected computer.
3. Open Your account trial and upload it under Offline activation & renewal.
4. Choose Export license key and transfer redline.license back.
5. Paste the file's contents into Offline license key and choose Activate offline key, or choose Import license file....

The request identifies an installation, not a drawing. It contains no project content.

Renewing

Account trial files all expire 30 days after WorkOS account creation. Exporting a new request or renewing never restarts the trial. Existing signed licenses retain their stated expiry. New paid activation is not yet enabled.

Replacing a machine

Trial files are installation-bound, but there is no trial device quota. Export a request from the replacement machine and obtain a file before your fixed trial end. Paid device management will use Polar; no local activation registry is maintained.

After expiry

A compatible desktop release preserves viewing, exporting, and recovery saving while restricting authoring until a valid license is imported.
