Physical cable numbering order

Change the saved device/port sequence independently of drawing positions or table sorting.

Use

In Ordering, select rows or use Select node, Select node group, and Select port group. Drag selected physical ports or use Up and Down to change their numbering sequence. The device preview offers Earlier port and Later port. Reset to default restores the default sequence. Done with ordering (Continue) advances to numbering.

Effect and context

These operations change numbering order only; device positions and drawn port offsets stay fixed. A sorted table can present rows in another order without changing that saved sequence. Ctrl-click selects two ports for linking; range selection and group actions help work on several ports. The node Inspector also exposes Cable numbering order.
