Annotations and talks

Place explanatory text rectangles independently of devices and cables.

Create and edit

Inspector > Create annotation or the page-context action wheel starts an annotation draft. A talk is a text rectangle, not a device. Select it to edit Position, Size, Text, Background, Border, and User fields. Text in this Inspector is a plain text field; it does not expose the rich-text formatting toolbar.

Effect

Move a talk by dragging or arrow keys. Its text and rectangle are independent of connection endpoints and automatic cable numbering. Summary > Talks helps find annotations in a large drawing. For nontext grouping regions or imported artwork, use [ Background rectangles ] and [ Import and replace images ].
