Connect devices and clarify routes

Make a real connection, then choose its route, labels, colors, or flags.

Connect endpoints

Start on a port, not the device body. Click a source port and a different destination port, or drag between them. Escape clears a pending connection. A line crossing another line is not a junction: connectivity is determined by the endpoint ports. See [ Connections ] and [ Crossings and jumps ].

Make the drawing readable

Move devices to give their ports space. Use Edit route for a deliberate path, or Add flags when a continuous line would clutter the sheet. Edit Label and Subtext independently from the cable slug. Cable labels offers placement and color controls for many connections. See [ Edit a connection route ], [ Flagged connections ], [ Place cable labels and subtext ], and [ Connection color rules and overrides ].

Review the physical result

Use Summary Connections to review source and destination devices and ports. Reverse direction swaps which endpoint is source; it does not mean a different cable is connected. Reassign / swap endpoint changes actual connectivity and should be reviewed before output. See [ Reassign or swap connection endpoints ].
