Preview automatic device IDs

Review proposed node slug changes before applying them.

Use

In Summary, choose Auto increment node IDs. Proposed ID changes lists each current key/value, proposed value, and reason. Apply ID changes commits the offered node slug proposals. Cancel preview returns without applying them. If the list is empty, the IDs already satisfy the policy.

Caveats

Do not generate new IDs prevents applying new proposals while checked. This preview concerns device identifiers, not cable labels, page numbers, or printed table order. Review repeated physical metadata and copied devices before applying. Cable numbering has its own grouping, order, and preservation controls.
