Reserve a number for an unused port
Include unused physical connectors in the cable-label sequence before drawing a cable.
Purpose and use
A reservation belongs to an unused physical port and participates in numbering with connected cables. Linked unused ports can reserve a shared number. Reserved rows appear as Unused port reservation in Manual and have no destination cable endpoint. Node previews and port selection provide the physical context.
Adopt or release
Release reservation removes a reserved label. Use reservation lets an eligible connected cable adopt an available reservation when offered. Reservation identity follows physical port metadata across drawing occurrences; it is not a separate number for each picture of the same port. Review connected labels and links after adopting a reservation. See [ Link ports to share cable numbers ], [ Manually edit cable labels ], and [ Reassign or swap connection endpoints ].
